About Kid Wave

New on the scene and already making a big impact, London quartet Kid Wave are about to take their ‘90s-inspired brand of new wave pop on the road. Fortunately, at Gigantic we have a selection of Kid Wave concert tickets available, and as the band are limiting the number of appearances this year, we predict that these tickets will sell quickly. If you want to catch this Anglo/Swedish band in action then check out our Kid Wave tour dates and list of available tickets.

The mini-tour is a brief jog around the country in September and October, stopping off at the wonderfully-named Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar in Brighton on the 18th September, before appearing at the Bristol Exchange on the 22nd. They then move on to the Bodega venue in Nottingham on the 28th, before rounding things off at Gullivers in Manchester on the 1st October. All of these are relatively intimate venues, making Kid Wave tickets even more in demand, as places really are limited.

The tour is part of their debut album promotion. ‘Wonderlust’ has already received critical acclaim, and is positioning Kid Wave as ‘one to watch’ in the coming months and years. As their sound develops and takes on its own personality, critics and audiences alike are expecting big things from this creative ensemble.

Kid Wave started life as a project by Swedish singer/songwriter Lea Emmery. After spending some time releasing her own tracks, she eventually brought on board fellow Swede Mattias Bhatt on guitar. Australian Serra Petale took over on drums, and finally British bassist Harry Deacon joined the group. They signed to Heavenly Recordings and released their first EP, the happily-titled ‘Gloom’ in 2014. Despite the less-than-uplifting title, the EP did remarkably well and Kid Wave quickly found a willing audience among London’s more discerning music lovers. Harmonic, lilting but with a backbone that raises it above the usual ‘navel-gazing’ indie style, Kid Wave are certainly making waves of their own.
