About Grant Nicholas

Grant Nicholas will take to the stage at London’s Bush Hall at the end of February as part of a UK tour. The show is in celebration of his critically acclaimed debut album Yorktown Heights and follows a succession of sold out shows across the UK earlier this year.

Grant Nicholas shot to fame as the lead singer and guitarist of Feeder. Nicholas was the only consistent member of Feeder, which saw various line-up changes over the years, but to date consists of Nicholas, Taka Hirose (bass) and Karl Brazil (drums). The band originally formed in 1992 as Real/Reel, but became Feeder in 1995. Feeder's first album came in 1997 in the form on 'Polythene' and the group went on to enjoy tremendous success with their next four studio albums 'Yesterday Went Too Soon' (1999), 'Echo Park) (2001), 'Comfort in Sound' (2002) and 'Pushing The Senses' (2005). The trio's mainstream success began to fall with the dissolution of their record label Echo and while their 2008 record 'Silent Cry' had chart success on UK iTunes their label issues saw the band turn to self-releasing material such as 2010's 'Renegades' and 2012's 'Generation Freakshow', which while these records did see rather moderate chart success, the self-funded nature of the releases halted the band's ability to push the records as much as they’d have liked and ultimately saw Feeder go on hiatus before 2012 came to a close.

The band came out of hiatus in 2013 to perform a surprise slot at a private Reading University event and come early 2014 details began to emerge about Nicholas releasing a solo record. Nicholas soon followed up this information in May 2014 with the release of his debut solo single 'Soul Mates'. It was soon announced that Nicholas' album 'Yorktown Heights' would be released in August 2014. While Feeder fans were excited about new music from Nicholas, the frontman gave fans another excuse to get excited by revealing that new Feeder material is currently in the works.
