Beautiful Worlf
Beautiful presentation of a beautiful album. I definitely recommend catching Chris (& Lach) if you get the chance!

An evening with Chris Barron (Spin Doctors), The Hairy Dog, Derby - 31st January 2018
Once in a lifetime gig.
An unexpectedly spectacular night. The local support Panama Scots delivered a tight set that was melodic and uplifting, setting the mood for a great night, despite (sadly) only 25 or so attendees. Next up was Lach - legend tells of him, but it was my first time seeing him live. The immensely talented wordsmith concocted and presented an eclectic blend of wisdom, fury, and warm humour. Although his guitar skills are undeniable, the spoken word section was poignant and moving. Last, but by no means least, Mr. Chris Barron. What an absolute legend. Unbeknownst to me, I'd been standing next to him all evening as he applauded, and gently positive-heckled his fellow musicians with great enthusiasm.
The audience were thin on the ground,so Chris didn't take to the stage but instead ushered us all to the cosy sofa area, unplugged his guitar and sang and played his heart out for the next couple of hours. He is a phenomenal musician, amazing lyricist and an all round superb human (not to mention his incredible guitar tricks. No, really. Don't mention them.) We were treated to a full-time through of his latest album with a story about each song and a handful of classics. He was humble, and hilarious. The album is beautiful, but nothing can replace the experience of the evening. Thank you so much to all the musicians for a perfect, once in a lifetime gig.
